Fall Harvest Season! |
| Posted by Pandaba on 02-Nov-2009 (711 reads) |

It's been far too long since my last entry. The work here in the Amaranthian Grove never stops. The annual spring festival, which introduced two of our newest members (asiunia and Spicydust) was such a huge success once again! I have to admit, it was such a surprise to have two new members join the grove during that time. Our numbers continue to grow each year, it seems! Now, preparations for next year's festival is already underway. We've been deciding on a new theme which I think many will find to be a fun addition to the activities that will be made available during the festival.
Strongheart is all grown up now. He's very beautiful. I think Silverwisp is a little intimidated by his size, now. It seems the roles have been reversed and it's now Strongheart who's been protecting him.
Fall is in the air! It's harvest season once again! The trees are showing their color, and the animals are growing restless for when the winter season arrives. It's time to start gathering and helping the animals prepare for the colder months ahead.

A few weeks ago, Silverwisp roused me in the middle of the night to bring to my attention a strange sighting in the sky. I thought I was dreaming, or perhaps my mind was playing tricks on me. Up in the sky, soaring just above the treetops was a rare and elusive white falcon (also known as a Gyr Falcon)! It circled the Grove for just a few minutes before disappearing into the night sky. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever see it again, or was it all simply an illusion?

A Day in the Life of Helios, My Pegasus Familiar |
| Posted by nic_c12 on 03-Jun-2009 (1229 reads) |
So, Helios has been begging me on and on to post something about him so he could open up to you guys all and that you may know more things about him.
I finally gave into it and figured nothing could be wrong with it, right?
Well then, without no further ado... my Pegasus familiar... Helios!

Hi there everyone, I'm Helios, Druidess Rei Sabere's familiar. Today, you're gonna know more about me. How I live my life in a day, and probably even my likes, dislikes, hobbies and more.
Okay. Let's get started.
Morning.
I wake up in the grove.
I go eat plants for my breakfast. I'm a vegetarian. I hate meat. Meat comes from animals. Animals are my friends.
I play with my animal friends afterwards. My bestfriends are dogs, cats and fishes. (And I don't eat fishes, I tell you! They're my friends. Don't eat them!! )
Afternoon.
I eat more plants. Herbs on the side. Some fruit too.
I go with my master around Amaranthia and produce beautiful music with my singing. Or we do jamming time while she plays the piano and I sing in the grove.
I rest with my master when we're exhausted already. She uses my wing as a pillow. It's really soft.
Evening.
I'm pretty vain so for today, Druidess Rei and I go to the salon. I dyed my hair!!! Here's some pictures!

I look great don't I? I think so too
So.. what do I do after that? Partay!!! XD I'm one party animal!!!!
Although, in school days (Rei's school days) I help her with her studies
I'm a loyal but fun familiar!!!
Well, that's all the time we have for now.
Thanks for knowing more about me.
Have fun in Amaranthia, and be sure to catch sight of me whenever you suddenly hear singing out of nowhere!
Bye for now!!!
Rei here. Yes, yes. That was a day in the life of Helios. Sorry, he gets too excited and too vain at times. *sigh* Anywho, hope you enjoyed being with him. He's really hard to sight at times because he flies so fast.
Well, I gtg as well.
See you in the Village Square
xoxo

Animals' Home Crisis at the Amaranth Grove |
| Posted by ELIE-3173 on 13-May-2009 (1437 reads) |
It was a bright, glorious, sunny spring morning in the Amaranth Grove. “Ouch!” Something hard hit me on my head. I winced as I opened my eyes to find Jinx, my pet squirrel staring at me. I sat up while rubbing my aching forehead and found a shriveled up walnut lying on my bed. Jinx must have thrown it at me while I was sleeping. “Jinx! That’s no way to wake someone up!” I growled as I climbed out of bed. Jinx ignored me and was busy jumping up and down while chattering away in “squirrelish” (My own term for squirrel language). “Whoa, lil’ fellow. I don’t speak squirrel so slow down.” Jinx scrambled out of my room and quickly return with my cloak. “My cloak?” I asked as I wondered what my cloak has to do with Jinx’s peculiar behavior. I turned to face the calendar and realized that today is my turn to make rounds to check on the animals and plants in the grove. I quickly wash up and back my necessities for my trip to the grove.
As I locked my cottage door, I was greeted by Erasmus, my druid companion and friend. “Good morning, Nessa! You’re late!” “Sorry to keep you waiting, Erasmus. I’m ready now, so come on let’s go.” Erasmus walked up next to me as we headed towards the grove while Jinx hopped off a tree branch and land on Erasmus’s back for a free ride. Jinx had been looking forward to visit his creatures friends in the grove as he had been cooped up in my cottage all winter, playing tricks on everyone including Twilight and Alastair, my magical pet creatures adopted from the Enchanter's festival.
As we approached the grove, there were a lot of animals gathered at the grove’s entrance. “What’s going on?” asked Erasmus who walked up to the group of animals gathered at the entrance. “It’s horrible!” cried a little blue bird and all the animals started talking at once. In this commotion, all I was able to catch were a bunch of animals sounds, “chirp chirp, bark bark, hiss hiss”. “Hold it right there, everyone! I only have one pair of ears so can you all please speak one at a time.” And once again all the animals started talking at the same time. “This is hopeless!” I thought to myself. I pulled out a whistle from my pocket and blew hard on it. At the sound of the alarming whistle, all the animals stopped their chattering at once. “Listen, everyone. I can’t help you guys if I don’t know what is going on. Can someone please tell me what’s going on and..HOLD IT! Just one person…Sorry I mean animals.” I tried to keep the crowd in control, it’s hard enough controlling a bunch of people and what’s more if your audience are animals. “I just need one of you to tell me what’s going on…er…How about you, badger?” I tried to find an animal who could give me a comprehensive view of the problem. Who am I kidding? “I just woke up from my winter hibernation…and…” “Aww...gramps! Cut the story short and just tell her what’s wrong!” cried an annoyed young red fox. “Grr…If you know so much, why don’t you tell it to her yourself!” the old badger growled at the fox. “Grr…Fine! I’ll tell her!” the young red fox growled back and the two begun to argue amongst themselves. Erasmus and I both sighed, this is going to be a long day…
When things has settled down, the young red fox spoke up again. “All of us have just return to the groove after our long winter hibernation and migration. To our horror, our spring homes have been destroyed. Some kids from the village must have sneaked into the grove and vandalized our homes while we were away during the winter.” “That’s terrible…” both Erasmus and I were saddened by what happened to the grove. “Yes, indeed. Now what do we do?” asked the young red fox. All the animals became restless and the grove was noisy once again. “Oh, Nessa. We need to help them.” Erasmus pleaded. “Yes, but how can I help? I don’t know where to start.” “Oh, I know! We can invite them to our cottage. You love animals, don’t you, Nessa? That’s why you took in Jinx, Twilight and Alastair when they were homeless.” Jinx was nodding in agreement as he jumped up and down on Erasmus’s back. “I would love to but our cottage can’t fit everyone. I’m still working on some repairs and the living room is still under construction.” “But…but you’re the Guardian and Preserver of the Reservoir of Secrets! One of the guardians of this grove. You must be able to do something about this…” pleaded Erasmus. “I…I…” I stammered as I struggle to think of an idea. With the druids’ annual spring festival approaching, I barely have time to prepare for…Wait a second! I have an idea! “Hey, everyone! I’ve got an idea. Would you please listen to me?” I shouted out the other animals that were busy going at each other. “You do? I…I’m sorry pressuring you…I felt sorry for all of them and…” Erasmus said guilty. “It’s ok, Erasmus. Hey everyone, listen up! I’ve got an idea. I’m going to ask the help of the Amaranthians to help you all with rebuilding your spring homes. We, the druids of Amaranthia will host a contest to have the Amaranthians to help design your homes and then we’ll rebuild your homes. With more man power and…” Erasmus gave me a nudge. “oh yes…and animal power, we would be able to rebuild your homes in no time. So what do you all say?” “Sounds good.” the young red fox and the badger seemed to agree on something. “Yeah, if it was left to us, we’ll never finish in time.” squeaked March Hare Junior, Mrs. Hare’s youngest kid rabbit. “Yes, I understand. I’ll go report this to the Archdruidess, Elinirewiel and the other druidesses and druid then we’ll get back to you all real soon.” “Come on, Erasmus, Jinx! We’ve got work to do.”
With that we’ve found a solution to our crisis. I hope all of you who read about this will come join us in helping the animals rebuild their spring homes. Watch out for the event entitled, “Animal Spring Home design contest”. For more details, please keep an eye for the upcoming Druid’s 2009 Annual Song of Trees and Spring Festival that will be held on 24 to 31 May 2009.

Welcome Spicy!! |
| Posted by MoonPrincess on 10-May-2009 (1357 reads) |
Oh, how excited I was last night! I couldn't even sleep well. Before you think you know why, I'm telling you, it's not because of VelvetStorm's snoring
Yesterday a little bird whispered to me, while I was taking care about the newly born flowers in the forest, that we'll have a visitor in Druids grove.
"A visitor?!" - I thought - "who knows the way to our secret sanctuary? Unbelievable!"
I begged the bird to tell me more, but she flew away not letting me know anything else. I thought that this was one of my crazy horse's ideas of messing with me, that she made a deal with that bird because she knew that I'm very curious, and yet my druid's instinct was telling me that the thing about the visitor is really true.
So yeah, last night I couldn't sleep well because I was thinking who might that visitor be? I was sure that it'd be someone from those AM unguilded rebels but didn't know which one.
My answer came this morning, when I saw a new girl at the entrance of our grove. It was Spicydust!! How happy we were when we found out that she's here to stay and learn how to be a druidess.
We gave her some delicious food and shown her a place where she could rest from the long journey, while we are planning the celebration by the fire for tonight
Can't wait to see what kind of changes this 6th druid (5th druidess) will bring to our home.
[quoting Spicydust] I'm ready to set new Fire on Druids guild using my spicy-dust [end of quoting lol]
Yeah, she'll definitely make changes
Well just wanted to let you all know that Druids will have a real celebration tonight, and that.. ermm..I'll have to go 'cause they'll say that I'm lazy, not doing anything but writing here

Got Guilded in New Year's Eve! ^_^ |
| Posted by mikasalla on 02-Jan-2009 (1547 reads) |
Hey, my fellow Amaranthians and everyone! I may looked bad at writing and blogging, but my first blog is to say my feelings and purposes of becoming a Druid.
Well, I finally got guilded in the Druids on New Year's Eve. Also, I'm known as Druid Mika Roswell, the Keeper of Gardens and Nature. There are reasons why of this happening actually, let me list them.
1) I post and participate as active as I can in Amaranthia because my holiday is going to end soon.
2) I love nature and plants a lot, usually interested in their healing and medicinal properties. The most interesting stuff to me is, plants' poisons could take one's life away if taken time, but ironically, their poisons could be used in medicine and cosmetics too! For instance, belladonna or deadly nightshade is an extremely well-known poisonous plant, notably its fruit (berry).
To learn more about belladonna, click here (Wikipedia). ^_^

Description: Drawing of a herbaceous belladonna plant with its detail of flowers and fruits. Picture source: Wikipedia
3) My favorite season is spring although I was born in autumn. But still, my second favorite season is fall or autumn (because I can eat a lot, autumn is the season of plentiful harvest, how greedy of me!). Coincidentally, our Druid's festival, known as The Annual Song of Trees and Spring Festival. Spring indicates the life starts to wake up and bloom vividly. (Not applicable to evergreen plants like holly)
4) My friends (fluteplayer1234, elm, MoonPrincess, Heimdall, gabriela), all suggested I'm suitable to be Druid because my love and curiosity of nature.
5) I wish to fill the green, not just in the real life, but also in the world of Amaranthia. I may give my gift to Amaranthians' cottages with my blessed gardens if something good happen. Who knows if you lucky enough to obtain a gift of garden via PM?
6) To conclude I love mostly of herbs, green plants (not mushrooms and fungus), fruits (usually berry kind), of course the important element of life, animals (usually docile ones ).
Overall, I wish everyone of belated New Year. Let the laughter, and of course, the greens fill the world! Sow a seed in a day, let the sun smiles with her glory ray, give us the brightest May, what do you say? |
