problem with the witchy food industry |
| Posted by Aveyondstars on 08-Jul-2010 (156 reads) |
Dear... er... journal. Yes, I do believe that you should be a journal be cause diary sounds... well.... you know. I apologize, for this IS my first blog entry.
Anyhow, we witches today are faced with a big problem. Our food just isn't very appealing to outsiders, while we enjoy a good frog toe and eye of pig stew, others may think this gross and repulsive. There for the demand for witchy food has dropped of late.
Though our candy still remains highly popular, as the one holiday that we love most, Halloween, still required a rather lot of sweets to keep some of the more curious children from making a mess.

Record Breaking!!! 60 pages of drawing in a day!!! |
| Posted by daeva_agas on 09-Dec-2009 (1599 reads) |
Wheeeee!!!!! I broke a record!!!
This is a "special" case, folks. Don't try this at home
So I have this whole-quarter project of drawing from life. 10 pages a week for 10 weeks and each week it's a different theme. Like week 1 is to draw decorative objects, then week 2 is drawing clothes, etc. And 10 pages does not mean 10 large pictures that fill up the whole page Except for the assignment where we're supposed to draw rooms, that is.
At the end of the quarter we're supposed to have at least 100 pages of drawings, plus extra personal drawings that's not part of the assignment (so if I draw 50 pages of daevas it doesn't count as part of the 100-page task).
As I do not like drawing from life, I mostly abandoned the assignments. I'd draw one or two pages' worth and leave it. So by the last week of the quarter, I still have 90 pages to do and even then I still put it off. I did around 30 pages in 3 days and then leave it again. So today, on the final day, I did the whole 60 pages that I needed to do (and yet again I still dared to stop and do other things every now and then, like making Aveyond hats). It involves creeping around the house in the dark at 4 AM like a thief to draw (causing the dog to bark like mad), and cranking out a whole bunch of half-baked drawings. And by half-baked I mean REALLY half-baked. Quite a lot of my Collegium submissions are half-baked too, but they're still nice. More than half of these are nothing but almost-unintelligible scribbles.
Most of them were pulled out of the top of my head AKA non-existent objects, stuff that DO exist but is somewhere else drawn from memory, and stuff I did by looking at Google search images. In the plants and flowers section, I drew a whole bunch of mushrooms because I thought they were cute, though now that I think of it I don't thing mushrooms can be counted as flowers or plants.
So yeah. The pics were actually quite convincing to me Though the human figure drawings were real bad. I draw too much anime and manga that these people looked like comic book characters. I hope the teacher don't mind The human figures were the only ones I actually bothered doing seriously. Like I actually went and looked at real people in school and drew them. The less seriously done human sketches were drawn from photographs, but I still took more time on them than I did with the others. |

Black Voyage |

From my lair I can hear noises from afar, the kingdom seems so lively this night. I decided to go out for a walk and watch the cottages' lights. As I walk randomly i found a shiny thing. My curiosity asks me to pick it up. I touch it and it started to sunk me in, into another space.
"What the- I didn't plan to have a world tour today!"
Soon after I found myself at the middle of the Antarctic on a ship- I don't know if it is really the Antarctic but there are huge piles of ice bergs around . The ship is also isn't big enough to be called a ship but I consider it.
There is a dense fog that i cannot describe the ship more, except that it smells really old. I walk around on the upper part of the ship. Seems nobody is around.
"Is this thing floating alone?"
"..."
"Geez~ It's getting cold"
I found my way going to the main deck. There's a small light coming from the inside. I decided not to show up and peek. There's a handsome young man writing something on a desk.
I tried to describe him from afar. He has seagreen eyes, pale skin color, a not so crooked nose, has a round face and lean body built.
"He's cute.. but not wicked i guess."
I take my time evaluating his behavior while he is busy writing. He stretched and seems going out, so i decided to hide. He looked at the ocean for about an hour then bothered by some sort of a thing. He lays down a boat. I'm so wicked that I didn't help him. He goes back with a much older man. The man is almost half dead shivering. He helped the man and gives it a chauder. Soon after the old man started to tell a story.
....
His name is Frankenstein, a doctor who's being blinded with Alchemy and make a monster by mistake- I'm surprised because I thought Frankenstein is the gray skinned guy with a screw on its head.
Soon, i got bored... and made my way back to the Kingdom using a magic circle. Seems no one had noticed that I gone for a while. I looked at the magical thing I picked up earlier- It's a book.

Happy Halloween! (First Blog Entry) |

I know quite a few people write their first blog entry right after they’re guilded, but since I joined a guild so near to Halloween, and that guild was the Witches and Warlocks, I thought this fit, too. |
