  1. But, he searched a lot for this game, Rhen's quest is too bigger, Clearwater, Peninsula, ETC, he did a lot searching (He learned too) it's benifit of theirs to learning and ours for time-passing, now, it is too bigger and popular that everyone loves it, Amaranth would be so glad. But, thanks so much for saying that all.. I would wish for more games, and you to discover more things! Daevas Agas.

If you mean me, I'm not a "he" XD I'm actually a girl.

But if you mean a different member, then okay :D

  2. Are you still using the Oda Nobunaga's arc as your reference? Haha yeah I know, in the old times you loves to draw Agas. Seems I miss that as well.

Oh that eyes is really looks like a real one though. A sharp one, feels I am being watched. It's kinda creepy though as you said. It looks like I am seeing a portrait of that man. Well, keep up the good work~ I like seeing your arts though, that realism~   :D

??? What arc? You mean actor? Definitely not LOL. Oda Nobunaga is old, so his actor would be 40+ years old XD

I think that one was the guy who plays as Sebastian in the live action Kuroshitsuji.

Ahh i meant like traditional or by tablet xD

Ohhh he looks kinda evil idk xD thats what i felt looking at him... like ploting something evil u.u *nods nods* idk his eyes feels evil or something o.o

How long does it take for one painting to finish? :D

Both. Most of the times I draw by pencil, then scan it, then ink and colour with tablet. But when I paint realism nowadays I don't sketch anymore. I just start making blobs of colour :o

Time taken depends on how lazy I am and how hard the painting is :P The one with the stars took about 12-15 hours.

  3. In another news, I'm painting again already.

Here's a little story: I usually don't paint the eyes until last. I draw everything like nose and hair and body and mouth and the eyes is the final touch. I don't remember why I do this, and I saw that other people actually like to start drawing eyes first, so I tried to paint the eyes in early to see what happens:

Well, now I know why I don't like drawing eyes until last. Because I feel like the person in the drawing is watching me and I hate it.It's kind of creepy :s

  4. Owwweeee~your drawing looks much much better than the last I saw your work! (About Gyendal things xD) I don't know but I feel like seeing a Korean Boyband member cause of his face maybe?

The reference I used is a Japanese youth actor tho XD

To be honest I miss the Gyendal things and daeva things XD But I'm lazy and I don't feel like drawing fantasy things. Too much funky details.

    hello ^^

    I like your art! its amazing ;^;

u draw mostly by hands? :o what do you use to color? :D

and ur manga are you uploading it online? *-* it looks nice i wanna read it *0* /attracted to mangas with good drawings/

well  a story of samurai might be a good change to me too :D

Hello! Yes, I draw with hand. And even when using computer I have to manualy draw, hahaha. It's not like the computer can magically draw the picture for you :P

Most of the things here are coloured with computer, except for the food. And the manga is just a picture practice. I have no stor, LOL :D

  5. @d_a/Luthie: I waltzed right up to Nanghaithya on Mt. Orion like "hey who's thi--OH GODS" and then made the same mistake later, with Indra. ("Hmm, just an ice elemental--there are no ice elementals in this game I WAS NOT PREPARED :U") Thank goodness Rashnu wasn't a daeva, or it would've happened again!

Man, thank goodness we saw Agas in the prologue or else I would be doomed. I hated fighting the Dreamland monsters so I woulda been waaay unprepared to fight him if I made a mistake :P

I was paying enough attention to the cutscenes to notice Indra (she DID actually say stuff, unlike the others who just appeared for all of 30 seconds and the vanished)

  6. My bad, I forget about that haha. Sorry, it's been a while since I play AV1. I think I have to re-play the game so I remember about them again. Sure, I'm looking forward seeing your arts again. Good luck! ;)

I always said Nanghaithya and Rashnu got their roles reversed, LOL. The only daeva more colourful than Nanghaithya is Saurva, who is scary enough to not look like a druid (at least I like to imaagine so LOL).

  7. I have been replaying a couple of Lone Wolf's old games (from back when it's still called Warfare) and Aveyond right before this launched, so I feel like I was in a rather interesting place to be reviewing from.
The story is more of the Lone Wolf style with lots of snark and sarcasm, which was right up my alley and I got a lot of giggles from the dialogue. I really love Sidni's character and how she flails and rambles when she's in panic. I don't think I've seen this type of hyper-talkative character in the RPGs I've played before. I'm a rambler, and I can relate. Estradi was a pleasant surprise. I was the artist for the facesets and the title, and he... wasn't given a personality description in the details for the art. I drew him as a big dork just for fun and it was a delight to see that he was as much of a dork as I drew him to be. Brenna rather reminds me of Nyx from Ashes of Immortality 2, but funnier. I like grumpy characters like her. Cathan seems a little less-developed than the rest, though.
The game is interestingly setup. Unlike some other games that I've played, we don't actually have that many towns to explore. The mission seems more personal to Sidni rather than this big "save the world" quest, and even when it leads to a bigger situation than originally expected, it's still a somewhat smaller scale. Or at least that's the impression I'm getting, and I liked it. At some point, the "aaah, the world is in danger!!" motive gets a tad overdone. I also loved how the story was told. I thought I knew what was going on, but no, there was a twist and the twist was done right. It was unexpected, but it didn't just spring up out of nowhere. It connects with everything else just right.
I had lots of fun with the cameos, especially Simona and Orlok. Sidni keeps on saying that they're a couple and I get a huge kick out of it, regardless of whether it's true or not. It was almost funny that we have two Mels, though. One who was the clerk at the wagon service thing, and one that was actually Aveyond's Mel. And oh, Galahad too... And the character whose sprite was Gyendal in Aveyond. I laughed so hard when I saw him. I don't know if this was a beta-only thing, but the secret lab was absolutely hilarious. Loved all the hidden secret rooms and hidden bosses. Tough to fight, but it was so satisfying to beat them.
As the others mentioned, there's plenty of pop-culture references. For me personally, that was a bit overbearing, because at times I don't even know what the reference was supposed to be. Your mileage may vary on this. I also felt the ending was a bit abrupt and would have preferred more closure, but it wasn't that big of a problem for me.

If any passerby is reading this: I will emphasize that this game has a different tone and gameplay from Aveyond. Please do not come in expecting to see Aveyond. This game is good in its own way. I liked it because it was different, and I had a lot of fun.

  8. Yeah, now this is more cartoon-ish stuff right there. I do generally like anime that is proportional (and makes real sense) as compared to the other counterparts. Actually, yours are in line with my favorite animations and your drawings are great :)

Pixar's animations fall much into my definition of cartoons, so do the older Disney characters. Japanese style anime, on the other hand is something I find realistic, and rather intriguing.

Sent from my Aqua HD using Aveyond Kingdom

Oh, I see. So what made you think those ones were realistic must have been the colouring. Because the black and white I posted up there is actually more realistically proportioned than the djinn and the samurai.

I don't really like manga that much because I prefer watching anime. Don't judge me. :D

But I think there's somewhere in my heart for manga. :)

Hahah, I don't even have a manga for you to read, so I don't care :P

  9. @Specter: Yeah, your criteria of "realistic" is different from me. I don't know what kind of cartoons you mean, because this is pretty standard for the higher-quality anime out there. A lot of anime are "anatomically/proportionally correct", like what I did, but I (and generally everyone else) still call them "cartoon".
I also try to draw manga sometimes:

I kind of like the old-fashioned manga style with lots of cross-hatching. Also, because I'm cheap, no screentones. All the effects are drawn by hand. It's not a good idea to do for an entire manga, but eh, it's been done before (Koi Kaze), so it's okay.

  10. What realistic??? It's more than obviously cartoon!

    This is realistic:

Specter and BP say it's realistic but I can see it. Can anyone show me???

And I especially love the samurai with the armor straps on his legs and the shotgun. :)

They must have a different idea of "realistic" than us! :o They're anime-style, because the contest is for anime art contest!

Thanks for the compliments XD The gun was rather tricky to draw, hahah :D

  11. Rhen has muscles. :o

I am always amazed by your artwork. Keep up the good work!

You call that muscles? She's thin as a stick! XD

Old art anatomy-derp aside, well... yeah... even wooden swords are pretty weighty. Rhen should have at least some muscle after swinging them around for a year at Shadwood XD And since she got to use actual steel swords in the travels, she probably bulks up a bit more during the quest LOL :D

  12. I love the RPG Maker VX samurai pack. Not sure why people got bored of it. I haven't seen anyone use that pack in forever. I mean, if you make commercial games, don't you have to do some editing and making custom art anyway? So the limited size of the pack shouldn't discourage anyone from using the pack. Does that mean the developers are lazy or something? Or maybe they're just too under-budgeted to pay someone to tinker with the samurai sprites...

Anyways. I'm just here to drop some of my edits because I'm trying to make a game with the samurai pack and stuff, and I don't have a detailed plan yet so I don't want to make a development thread just yet.

  13. Just played the entire game because I'm itching for Samurai-RTP games. I really wished there's not so much inaccessible pointless places that only served to waste my time.

The maps are HUGE and very tiresome to walk around on, so "false alarm" places that only gave me "We don't need to go there" messages are just irritating.

  14. @Tei: I checked whatever it is that you inputed in the first post. You might have done something wrong there, because for some reason the URL looks like this:

This doesn't work. Not even removing the "skejhvmsjkfhvjs" behind the ".PNG" will make it work. The only URL that would work is the one with lots of "fs" like the URL for Vohu I put up there, LOL :D :D

  15. Argh, it's doing that thing again. Where it doesn't let me submit the DA link. If only photobucket wasn't full of malware and if I remembered my login info that would be great too.

Click here for a Vohu Manah doodle!

Someday I will do them justice, but here's an even less refined doodle XD No, I don't know why he's holding his arm like that.

You sure you aren't doing anything wrong? Seems to be worknig just fine for me...

Did you remember to rightclick-> view image, and then copying THAT url instead? This one:

You'r NOT supposed to copy this one:

It won't work. It's not an image URL.

But either way, heh, standing there holding your arm is a perfectly common pose for a shy person XD I tend to stand like that when I'm in a crowd of strangers :P

  16. Will you post some of your Aveyond fanart? I have always liked that. For instance the alternative covers for Aveyond 3 or the Amaranthia guilds wallpaper. (I hope I'm not mistaking it for someone else's!)

Oooh, you remembered those! Yes, "Aveyond fanart" counts.

By the way... The newest Aveyond pics still show up properly in the "This universe makes no sense" thread, so there's still stuff to look at in the last pages. Everything else in the pages before are all screwy, so unless you have the patience to highlight the links and copy-paste them to your browser... it's better to just leave them alone.

I rather feel bad about posting old material, but since you wanted to see them again...

(AV3 LOT cover styled after the Twilight novel covers. The hands are supposed to be Gyendal and Mel. Why yes, I painted the hands myself. Dunno how I managed to draw dirty hands like that, but I did)

(The Darkthrop Prophecy covers made for fun because I didn't like the official cover)

(Gyendal, Evil Queen Mel, Uma and Nox, and Yemite)

(The daevas as the Amaranthia guilds. Agas = Brotherhood, Saurva = Dragon Lords, Zarich = W&W, Indra = Enchanters, Nanghaithya = Druids)

(Some lulzy fake cover for a non-existent game about the daevas. It's not real. Don't worry about it. It's a VERY old picture from 2010)

(AV1 alternate cover just for fun)
