  1. Same problem here. I've tried both documents and get the same error. I do have Office 2007 so both formats should work for me. Maybe you should try saving it as a text file and see if that works.
  2. Some of the dialogue has me giggling already, I can't wait to hear it with the voice-over.
  3. I can't help you with figuring out how to wake up the Beauty. I haven't figured it out myself, yet. But here's the map for Istir Forest so you can find the castle. http://www.amaranthia.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=6431&forum=56 All the maps are posted in the forum, so if you're ever lost somewhere you can refer to the maps. Edit: The answer is in the FAQ thread. http://www.amaranthia.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=6172&forum=56
  4. I wonder if it would be possible to make the canoe bigger. I walk right by it and almost missed it because it was so small.
  5. I have no problem with people saying that they don't like the chapters, personally there are things that I like about it and things that I don't. But saying that it wasn't explained that it was only one chapter seems wrong. It had been explained and the information is out there. Obviously, there's information about it here and on other websites. I've seen posts about it in other forums and announcements about it on gaming sites. Granted you won't find it if you don't bother to look in the first place. There was nothing sneaky about it.
  6. I haven't finished the game yet but I'm really surprised by how short a time that some people have said that they have finished the game. I'd like to know what difficulty level they played and if they bothered with any side quests or used any goodies. I know I'm taking my sweet time to do side quests and to make sure everyone is leveled up and equipped. Once I finish, I'll post my thoughts on the game. So far it seems about right for being half the length of other AV games but I'll admit I don't want it to end.
  7. Did you check your junk mail? Sometimes it get sent to that on accident. Or could it be from an address that you have blocked?

    Avvies and Siggies

@Moony: Funny siggie but now I have that song stuck in my head.
  9. LOL, the 'Limerick for Amanda' may be a little to close to the truth.
  10. Nice poem, BadMagick. It's a perfect description of Omega.
  11. The main thing that I look for in a RPG is a compelling story. The battles are just an added bonus. If the story is interesting enough, I'd play it but it would have give the player some thing to do like quests, puzzles, or mini-games. I wouldn't like a game that's just one long cut scene with little for the player to do. If a game is just that, I'd rather read a book.
  12. I use the normal mode when I play and don't bother with the other modes. If I want to make it easy for myself, I'll just use the goodies.
  13. @MoonPrincess: Teengamer answered the question in the first post with FAQ (asked and waiting for reply). I was about to ask the same question since it hasn't been addressed yet but noticed that it was added in the first post. @teengamer: It would help if you make a note that the first post has been edited with FAQ. Not everyone would re-read the first post and otherwise it seems like you are avoiding the question.
  14. Maybe it's just me but the proportions of the house seem off. All the items seem tiny compared to the size of the room.

    Swine Flu

Here's an article I found slightly amusing: Focus on kids is best way to stop swine flu bugs. A review of 51 studies examining different ways to contain respiratory virus epidemics found that focusing on children's hygiene was the most effective. I always thought kids were walking petri dishes.

    Swine Flu

She's referring to the 1918 influenza pandemic, which also happened to be H1N1. There were three waves of outbreaks. The first one in the spring was more like a typical flu epidemic while the second wave in the fall was much deadlier. The current H1N1 strain is not identical to the previous one, so no we have not been exposed to this specific strain before. And yes, influenza outbreaks can and do 'die down' during the summer months and spread much easier in the fall and winter months. This does not mean they disappear all together. The seasonal nature of flu outbreaks is well known and documented. Edit: @Mopiece: I didn't see your post before I posted mine so I'm repeating a lot of what you said.

    Swine Flu

Not to scare anyone but one thing people need to keep in mind about the numbers is that these are only the cases that have been tested and confirmed. Not everyone who gets sick will go to the doctor for testing. So these numbers are more than likely an underestimation. On that note, there are a handful of confirmed cases in the province (Saskatchewan) that I live in now. Not that I'm surprised, it was just a matter of time.

    Swine Flu

@Esturia A third death was just reported in the US and the number of confirmed cased in the US is 2,300, not 300. There's over 4,000 confirmed cases world wide.
  19. It took me a few tries to get through that part too. You have to stay out of their line of sight so try to go when they have their back to you. Hope that helps.
  20. @Rage: They do have a forum at their website where you can report any problems with the game. http://www.roseportalgames.com/ That bug has happened to several other people and me too. Hopefully, it gets fixed soon cause now I can't continue the game.

    Swine Flu

That's to be expected. Normally, influenza dies down in the late spring and summer but then comes back in the fall and winter. It's easier for the virus to spread during those seasons. There's concern that it might spread in the southern hemisphere in the next few months since they're going into winter now and that it might come back in the fall and winter in the northern hemisphere. Hopefully, it's not going to be bad but we'll have to wait and see.

@Mopiece: Don't you mean you can't get swine flu from eating pigs?

    Swine Flu

Just wanted to add my two cents the thought that infectious diseases would go away. It's wishful thinking that we can get rid of them. They mutate fast enough that they are able to adapt to the environment as we change it. In the 1960's and 70s, there were many public health officials who thought they were seeing the end of infectious diseases as a major health threat but they were very wrong. Look at the situation today, infectious diseases are still with us and still causing problems. There are some that have decreased but there's new ones coming up all the time.

    Swine Flu

@BeMused: Just curious but why is the government where you live supplying flu vaccine to workers now when the current vaccine doesn't protect against this new strain. There is work to develop a vaccine that will protect against this one but that will take several months at least. Or is it something that they will do once it's made?
