  1. c: Here's a new poster of To the Moon by Alisa Tana: http://www.freebirdgames.com/images/To_the_Moon-poster2.png
  2. Many thanks johnjohn and diamond! And good luck finishing Quintessence. I've been working hard on To the Moon this summer. With the current schedule, the game is set to be finished around September of this year, then I'll leave a month for final testing and other pre-launch preparations. Although, during this period, I am susceptible to serious head injuries from falling down the stairs, so no contractual deadlines are provided. Anyhow, some new screenshots: Mm, I don't think I've talked about game-play much yet here. . . Here's a brief description; I'll post some more detailed stuff on it later. Given its story-oriented nature, the game-play mainly consists of the process of traversing through the memories via "mementos". A memento can be used to travel when it exists in two relatively close memories simultaneously. The time bar constantly visualizes your progress in Johnny's life, to hopefully sleep-deprive you until you're done. To be able to use each memento, 5 "memory links" from the current construct must be acquired through various means, depending on the memory. Additionally, mini-games and puzzles are scattered about wherever appropriate. Anyhow, I'll have to prepare some more screenshots and the like to make a more detailed post on that. And also for next time, supershigi/Laura Shigihara (Plants vs. Zombies) made a recording of her beautiful original song for the game~! ;D I'm super excited for it. Oh oh, and the official announcement trailer is coming soon as well!
  3. Heheh, thanks Dawn. c: I'll see to it that it is!
  4. Thanks guys. c: Here's a demo I recorded for the piano+vocal bonus track of the main theme "For River": MP3: "For River"/To the Moon Piano+Vocal Demo ---------------- Lyrics: ---------------- Spinning on this earth Do you ever feel something's amiss At night have you ever looked up high There's so much more to this world beyond that sky So when you ask me where to go, I'll say We're going to the moon to the moon to the moon To the moon, very soon To the moon, hear its tune We're going to the (going to the going to the going to the. . . ) Would you be afraid Gravity won't pull you down Would you miss that planet we once called home You should know that you won't be alone And we'll find so much more than what we know -----mp3 cutoff point---- [Chorus Rep.] [instrumental break] He's going to the moon, one day we will too There's only so much on earth to do Something something something and something that rhymes with too Something something more, and something that rhymes with do [Chorus Rep.]
  5. Thanks Kirro. Here's a song from To the Moon's original soundtrack: Anya by the Stars - MP3 [Click] Hope ya folks like it!
  6. Here're two banners with some spritework. c: Some new screenshots coming soon.
  7. Glad ya like it Indra. And if you want to try my other games, I suggest Quintessence - it's a RPG and is completely free. Hope you'll like it! My games tend to be more story/presentation-oriented without as much focus on leveling/itemization and the like.
  8. Thanks for the kind comments everyone! c: I'll make sure for it to be the best it can be. And it's cool to see some familiar faces here! In the mean time, here's a platypus.
  9. The sketches are looking lovely, Kirro. I especially like how their hair flows. Good luck with the project!
  10. It'll be a new original song which she herself will be composing and singing, so I'm sure it'll be great. c: And TtM/For River actually will be voiced as well; the vocal version of it plays at the ending credit, and I'll be the one singing. I may have posted a mock-up of it at one point, but it was really preliminary and rough.
  11. Hey, thanks ya two! And yep Val, that soundtrack demo reel has 5 songs in it. c: Oh, speaking of the soundtrack: Laura Shigihara, the composer of Plants vs. Zombies (and her upcoming game "Melolune"; keep an eye out for it!) is kindly creating a special vocal song for To the Moon's soundtrack.
  12. Hiya everyone! My name's Reives/Kan from Freebird Games, creator of Quintessence - The Blighted Venom, The Mirror Lied, and Do You Remember My Lullaby. After 5 years of making RM games, I'm very excited to announce that I am nearing the completion of my first commercial game, "To the Moon" [Romance/Drama/Sci-fi]. Click to enlarge poster: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Original Soundtrack demo: click! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To the Moon is an unconventional RPG/adventure game, revolving around a reverse-chronological story that spans a life time. Dr. Eva Rosalene and Dr. Neil Watts have rather peculiar jobs: They give people another chance to live. Literally. There exists a technology that allows doctors to weave artificial memories, such that a patient can request attempts to alter their mind, and wake up with memories of things that didn't actually happen. However, since these new memories are permanent, the conflict between them and the existing authentic memories clash in such a way that it ceases the person's ability to properly function. Thus, the operation is only done to people on their deathbeds, to fulfill what they wish they had done with their lives. . . but didn't. But creating a new memory is not as simple as pressing a button. The technology allows the doctors to step into the memories of the patient, which are reconstructed as interactive scenes. The doctors then gradually traverse backwards through memories of the patient's life until they reach childhood -- at which point, the wish of the patient in present time would be transferred over. Along with the doctors' influence, the patient (as a child) could then lead an entire different life inside their head, working toward and fulfilling their dying wish themselves. And if all goes well, they would wake up, having lived the dream life they never had, and embrace a brief moment of blissful fulfillment. Shortly after, they'd draw their last breath. Every once a while, there comes a life that is rather peculiar. This particular story follows Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts' attempt to fulfill the dream of the dying elderly man, Johnny. In their mission to do so, they traverse backwards through the man’s memories, unfolding his curious life story before their eyes. With each step back in time, a new fragment of Johnny's past is revealed. And as the two doctors piece together the puzzled events that spanned a life time, they seek to find out just why the frail old man chose his dying wish to be what it is. And Johnny's last wish is, of course. . . to go to the moon. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** More info, updates, and screenshots will be posted on this thread as the game moves toward its release. The game'll be available at Freebird, and hopefully Amaranthia as well. Please feel free to share your thoughts on this project! All feedbacks are appreciated. And if you like this, please help spread the word! c: Cheers~ Reives/Kan
  13. Ahh, you're supposed to go back to Henry and give it to him instead of going straight to Sherry, and then he will give it to her. (He's taking your credit of finding it, ugh!) And heheh, hopefully you meant part of the prologue instead of the intro music video.
  14. Thanks everyone. c': And hey Melody, long time no see! o: Hope everything's been good with ya. L.M.'s going well, just a bit slow, heheh. Thanks for playing, Jin. Glad you are enjoying it. As for that music box quest, the music boxes that you can buy are not the one she's looking for. If you talk to the music box seller, he should tell you that a little girl from Middle District bought that music box - you would then need to go to Middle District after talking to the music box vendor, and find that girl who bought it. And hey, good to see another story writer - perhaps you could turn those stories of yours into a game too!
  15. Ty for the feedback, Sana, Melody and Nic! c': And nope, the demo isn't complete, Melody. There's still a long way to go until the full game. Thanks for the heads up on those passability bugs! The beta-testing hasn't started/finished, they'll happen as this is being made and then after it's finished. :> (Eep, sorry for the late reply. And happy Canada Day, everyone! )
