    Post your reviews here!

Another wonderful game from Aveyond! It is completely different than the previous Aveyond series, and doesn't follow that story, so if you're looking for that, this isn't it. It is a completely stand alone game, although there are many references to the previous games here. The game is very fun to play - lots of side quests, some are in your quest journal, others you have to discover and remember to continue. All are worth doing, b/c (outside of the fact that it's just fun and gives you a challenge) you get some great rewards. Each character is unique, and comes with their own personality and skills. I managed to get Boyle and Ingrid married. Next time, I'll chose another suitor! One thing I really enjoyed was the story, and the humor. Very enjoyable. The artwork is wonderful too. If I'd have anything negative to say, it's only that in the beginning, I felt like I was walking around incessantly. Once I opened up the mist portals, it got easier to get around. A lovely game! Thank you! edit: I finished the game in 31 hours, and all my characters were in the high 50s, 60s.
  2. I don't remember exactly what I did to defeat this boss. I can tell you what my general strategy has been, which seems to work well. First, you have to figure out what the boss is weak to - be it melee, or an element. My usual line up for a tough boss is: Armegmus, Fidese, Vellamik. and another tough melee person like Val or Trux. The idea is this: Armegmus is good for melee AND elemental strikes. Fidese heals almost constantly, but her light spells can do a ton of damage. Vellamik boosts your team - increasing attack, evasion, defense, etc. I have found that Novriath and Efflora aren't very helpful with bosses, like you've said. And Syndarion takes too long to charge. But if you have Vellamik boost your stats, and Fidese heal, you can do a lot of damage. I can't remember if this boss is one that changes elements. If she is, take note of what the change is, and then strike with an element that counters hers. Hope that helps!
  3. @ogre8321 - you have to weaken Ephembra and then you'll get a message that she is now weakened. At that point you take the urn out of your items and use it.
  4. Ok I'll try that. Thanks so much! I was going nuts trying to figure this out! edit: Ok, I have re-installed the game, and didn't (thankfully) lose my save files. So now I just have to go back to the goodie cave where I found the recipes, and see if the new and improved version is there. edit 2: Yeah! It worked! Thankfully, I had a save file right outside of the goodie cave, and I didn't do anything in b/t that and the alchemist, so I didn't loose any ground at all. Thanks again!
  5. Hmm, I only downloaded this game last wk. It is the BFG version though. Where should I go to re-download it (if that's the problem)? Thanks! Yeah, I can't access bloodthistle or thindle root for my recipes.
  6. Ok, I guess I should clarify - I'm at the bowl, and I click on my recipe (I have the recipe for truth serum), and I see the ingredients that need to go in it. I can access all the ingredients except for certain ones. I can scroll down to mushrooms, and that's it for my ingredients. For some reason, I can't access certain items.
  7. I don't know what I'm supposed to do about this - I'm trying to make some recipes, and not all of my ingredients are accessible to me on the menu. For ex. I can access all my bread, but I can't use thindle root, nor the bloodthistle. It doesn't show up in my list of ingredients, even tho I have a lot in my inventory. Any ideas?

    Question about Ulf

Ah, that makes sense! Yeah, I got rid of a few (desperately needed $), and now I am seeing that that may not have been wise. Oh well!

    Question about Ulf

I figured he would, but I was wondering why I could buy an axe for him at Shoal Lieu, when there is a better one (of course for more $) at Underfall. That's why I was thinking that I should have had him by the time I got to Shoal Lieu, since I've already been to both places.
  10. I noticed that since Shoal Lieu, there is equipment available that Ulf could use (axe, doublet), but he isn't in my party. Will he be in my party later, or am I missing somebody that could use an axe? Thanks.

Answer them as a thief would - lie. Change all your answers to the opposite that you think you would. Then a bridge will be available.

OH NO! I forgot to go to Dewbream - augh! Well, I guess all the more reason for me to play through it again, once the 2nd book comes out. Or maybe I have a save before I go back to the hometown. Ugh.

@iya- I probably don't have a save anymore at that point in the game, but it's the cave after Ever's, the one with the switches and holes. In that cave, close to the top of the cave (I think close to where the bedroom is), there's a crack in the wall, and I tried to break that open, and I got the, "I should look for a pick-ax" message, even tho I had one. And there is another pick-ax in the bedroom, but you can't pick it up.

Interesting note about that pick-ax: Once I had it, I used it in various places. But in one cave, the one by Ever's in the mt., I couldn't use it. I got a message saying, "Maybe if I had a pick-ax?" or something like that. I tried "equipping" the ax, but that didn't work. In all the other caves, I just pressed enter on a crack and it worked. So I'm not sure if there is a special ax for that wall in the cave by Ever's, or if that's a bug. And talk about odd timing - sometimes I can't find anything good to play, and sometimes it comes all at once. I just got the news from the Laxius forum, that Inidera put out another game (free) while we wait for the next one he's doing. It's called "Laxius Party", and it's pretty fun (no great surprise). So now I have a bunch of games to play. YAY!

Thanks! I'll be eagerly waiting the next installment......at least I'll have Aveyond 3 to play soon in the meantime.
