  1. I do play on normal- I just didn't the first time around. It took me most of that time to figure out that fighting monsters made fighting monsters easier. I haven't played on hard as of yet, but I probably will at some point. It seems like there should be some sort of trade off- the game is harder but the monsters give more experience or the characters need less experience to level up. Of course, since the goal is to make the game harder, that probably doesn't make as much sense as I think it does. I suppose the big problem with that is that the game wouldn't necessarily STAY hard, even if it started that way. Oh well. I guess normal is the level for me.
  2. That is an amazing glitch. It probably made a lot of people very happy to discover that they suddenly had more money than they should. I actually found this one completely by accident, but when I found it I didn't realize what I'd found... LoT was my introduction to this genre of games. I played on easy and was proud of my ability to dodge monsters. It took me a while to figure out that it was easier (not to mention more fun) if you actually fought the monsters. What happened was this: after the fight, I accidentally walked past the rat corpse. When I turned around to retrieve it, I went through the door. When I re-entered the room, I was dismayed to realize that not only were the corpses gone, but I would have to fight the monsters all over again. I then proceeded to forget all about it. A couple of days ago, I decided to replay the game. I was contemplating the lack of reappearing monsters and remembered what happened on my first time through, then decided to test it. It worked. I was happy. I decided to share the happiness, and you know the rest.
  3. I just found a nifty thing... I have no idea if this is the kind of thing I should be posting or if this is the right place to post it... But I thought it was cool and thought I would share. Short back-story: I've always been a little bit sad that the monsters you face in Darkthrop Keep at the VERY beginning of the story don't reappear. They give you a decent amount of experience (considering your level), and they aren't hard to kill. What I've found is a way around that... Sort of. I know this isn't actually a cheat. It just feels like it because it's an easy way to level up. It's my compromise between "I'm not going to cheat this time!" and "'Things would be so much easier if I was just at a higher level!' [looks around] :guilty: [enters goodie cave]" I'm rambling. Sorry about that. What I've found is this: When you get to the room in the Orb of Darkness (in the dungeons of Darkthrop keep), there are three monsters (a rat and two moths, I believe). After you've killed them, if you don't loot all of the corpses, you can go back into the room and fight them again. I've been looting two of the three- it usually turns out to be the rat and one of the moths- and when I re-enter the room, I'll find the other moth flying around. Usually, that would mean that you have one moth to fight, but when you engage it, you face two moths and a rat, just like before. Rinse and repeat until you've reached the desired level or you're tired of fighting the same monsters over and over again without even getting any loot. I don't know if this is a glitch or what, but I've found it to be useful, and I thought other people might, too.
