  1. Anyone heard of ACTA? Before today, I had no clue that it even existed. Apparently, it's been around for years, but has gained popularity now that countries are actually passing it now. (Yes, that was plural. This thing is worldwide.) ( ) If anything's going to end in 2012, it'll probably be the internet as we know it... Anonymous must be losing their freakin' minds.
  2. SOPA also suggests that one could spend up to 5 years in prison for pirated material. Lolwhat. You mean to tell me that I could end up sitting in prison next to robbers, murderers, and/or sexual offenders because of a couple of songs? There's plenty more wrong with this, but I can't begin to tell it all. There was one video where a man talked about what was wrong with the big companies that support SOPA, but I'm feeling a tad lazy at the moment. Perhaps I'll post it here later. PS: The biggest mistake the creators of these bills made was messing with the internet. Anon is gonna be very displeased, if not already.
  3. I'm hoping that this shop is still open, because I've encountered a problem. I downloaded AP on my computer after not playing it in many years. I just got to exploring around Devenshire, and I saved underneath a bridge. I'm now stuck, and can't get out. https://rapidshare.com/files/2230224593/Save03.lsd;
  4. Thanks, guys. I'll try to talk to her one-on-one when I can, which might take a while, since we only see each other occasionally at lunch and at the club. @Ashen_Eclipse: I decided to look things up, and now I'm definetely sure that I can't say yes. The major deal-breaker was that you can't really go to college, or any sort of schooling after highschool that doesn't involve their Bible. Also, I'm starting to think that their (meaning her and her sister) dad might have something to do with their change of attitude. Their mom passed a while ago, and while she didn't seem to change too much immediately after, she mentioned that her dad said some weird-sounding things afterwards.
  5. I know that religion-related topics can get nasty, which is why I waited this long to ask for advice. But it's really been bugging me, so I need to ask someone, anyone. I've been best friends with this girl since the 5th grade, and I'm now in the 9th grade. So, after 4 years of being what I thought was "bf"s, you would think that I would know all the important things. Not quite. I've known for a while now that her religion does not allow her to celebrate holidays. However, I didn't really know that much about different religions, and I figured it was no biggie. Then, about a month ago, her and her older sister made some comments about gays. Which irked me a lot, considering that the club that we're in (and they run) has a few bi girls in it. Last Wednesday, it all kinda went into the crapper. She said that her and her family were Jehova's Witnesses. She then proceeded to explain that according to their belief, those who are not Jehova's Witnesses are "of the world" and will not be saved from some apocalypse she kept talking about. Not only that, but being friends with a non-believer would be just as bad. So, basically, my best friend told me that unless I converted to a religion I knew nothing about, we couldn't be friends anymore. Don't get me wrong. She's been one of the few actual friends I've had since kindergarten. But it just seemed...I dunno..wrong, so I said no. It didn't really end, though. Her sister joined in, and they both started talking about it more. They made the whole room so uncomfortable (by the way, I forgot to mention that they were doing this right in the middle of our club, where everyone else had to watch) that another kid joined in for a brief while after they said some things about atheists. All of a sudden, this week she seems to be completely fine despite the fact that I turned her down. I know I should be relieved that my only good friend in this school is apparently still my friend, but I can't help but feel worried that she'll bring it up again. I guess, more than anything, I'm angry. I can't help but ask myself why; why on Earth would she be friends with me for this long without making any statement about it before?? My question is this: what now? Vague, I know, but I have no idea whether or not I should make any effort to keep being her friend. All I know is that I cannot and will not be a part of another awkward conversation like the one at the club, yet I don't want to be in that position again, the one that I had to endure for 4 years: constantly being alone, with noone to talk to at school.
  6. Maria watched all the commotion with an expression that conveyed vague annoyance. 'Fools, all of 'em. Honestly, what's the point in goin' about being so hostile?' she remarked in her mind. Despite her inability to comphrehend their behaviors, the girl thought it best to go with them. As the Nova girl quickly walked towards the city gates, Maria glanced back at the rest of the group and followed her. She had almost caught up with Nova when a man rushed towards her with a brandished blade. Seemed mighty sharp, too. Well, that just wouldn't do. In what seemed to be just an instant, Maria had pulled out and loaded the crossbow and shot the man precisely in the heart. "Poor fellow, must'a gone mad from all the insanity goin' on," she muttered underneath her breath. Without a second thought, she turned and once again made her way to Nova, who Maria saw slash a man's throat. A grin crawled onto Maria's pale, dirtied face. 'Not afraid to do what needs to be done. Well, seems that this ragtag group might not be too bad.'
  7. Epiczor. I loved Talia's freakout about Ahriman. Ahriman. AHRIMANNNNN!!!
  8. Totally agree with MoonReader on that thought. My mom doesn't really enjoy her job. Now it's gotten to the point that it's affecting me, since she's been getting rather irritable. Having a job you dislike for a long amount of time can make you an incredibly miserable person. I've seen people who have well-paying jobs, but they're still bitter because they're never really happy.

  10. I love me some magicians/archers. One of my party members in FFIII is a black mage with bows and arrows. Needless to say, he's one of my faves. *o* I'm not very skilled with classes that rely on brute strength usually, but I don't hate them. What I can't stand, though, are healers. After all, there's no need for healers when you have such a strong offense that the enemies are gone in moments~
  11. @Midorilcho: That girl looks sorta familiar (I'm thinking I saw her in a YT video a while ago); if you happen to know, then could you please tell me who she is/what she's from? ^^
  12. Like Argoyle said, art doesn't necessarily mean that you're trying to be the next Picasso. I have personally thought about an art degree so that I could pursue a career in graphic designing. However, I've decided on pharmacy. (My reasons for it are much different than the money, though; my mom, who's a pharmacy tech, told me how much she uses math in her job, and being the math geek I am, I was sold on it immediately.) Basically, do what you want. I, myself, wouldn't want to be stuck doing something I don't enjoy, and I can't think of any people who do.
  13. As a freshman in highschool who has to carry around at least 20 pounds of books, I love e-books. Sure, real books are nice and all, and I'm not saying that I hate them, but the fact that my shoulder makes a noise similar to firecrackers when I simply move it makes me detest textbooks more and more every day -- and it's even making me see regular reading books differently. Now, excuse me while I try to "massage" my shoulders/back with the corner of a wall. :'D
  14. ((I'm really sorry about being so inactive in this RP..I've read all the posts, but I had a bad case of writer's block. I still kinda have it; that's why this post is so short. ^^")) Lapin ran silently, a small sprin in her step causing to to make a movement similar to a hop every few feet. She was glad to be working again. She was glad, but...something felt wrong. Very wrong. It was almost like there was some thick tension in the air; whatever it was, it made her ears and nose twitch, and her eyes dart nervously. A single thought buzzed through her mind at the same quick pace with which she traveled. 'Hurry, hurry, hurry..I have to hurry.'
  15. I'm getting a Prussia-ish vibe from Ean. And Iya talks like Poland. /hetaliaftw This is hilarious, by the by. xD
