Good to hear you're enjoying the game.

I'll try to answer a couple of your questions, I suppose.

    1. The closest thing to a goodie cave in the game are the buried hordes of cash you can dig up, and possibly the hidden rooms that usually contain a boss or two to fight.

    2. Because the script for autosaving was disabling the load function, for some reason. So you could save your game, but not load it up again.

He gives you a sword, take it back to the Divide. Remember the part you go to, just after Brenna saves you from the werewolves and tells you to run? There's a cave, and a mouse, and not much else? Go south from there, until you find a temple. Put the sword in the stone outside the temple, then go back to the huntsman.

Alright, I'm not dead, very hard at work on this, so I thought I'd share the new sprites with everyone.

I think I can spoil some of it for y'all:

There will be seven characters, including the original four. Sidni is again the central character, and this time we'll learn a little bit more about the other side of her family. Her father had to come from somewhere

Dracula will not be returning, except perhaps as a bonus boss; he really is dead, but the new villain will be the number two name when you think of classic monsters. Not gonna elaborate, just ask yourself who the big three monsters are in movie lore, and it's the one you probably think of right after Dracula.

The sequel will be set a few years after the first, and you will be able to revisit a few places from the first game, and see how they've changed.

Sidni will be able to purchase a house, taking a cue from the Aveyond series.

And yes, Cathan gets a bit more spotlight time this time around. Okay, a lot more.

Yep, some attacks and weapons heal the Heretics. The best way to figure this out is in the weapon description, if the flavour text mentions that it's best used against a certain type of enemy - beasts, or birds, or the undead - then unequip it before taking on a Heretic.

To make it easier, here are all the weapons and skills that the Heretics absorb damage from:

    ---Weapons---
    -Rising Sun
    -Thunderstrike
    -Ghost's Lantern
    -Gravedigger
    -Red Claw
    -Onigiri

    ---Skills---
    -All of Brenna's Fire spells
    -Soul Rend
    -Hurricane
    -Oil Shot

That seems like a lot, I know, but none of Sidni's weapons, nor any of the late-game weapons will heal the Heretics, and that's still only six skills out of a possible 21 that will heal them.

All four Heretics are also perfectly immune to negative states, so it's impossible to wound or silence them or even slow or weaken them. The best strategy is to buff your team with Candy so you'll at least be on an even playing field with them.

The suit of armour, right? Check the library (it's just before the suit of armour, in case you haven't been there yet.) Read the book on the small table, and it'll give you a clue to the password - just look at the first letter of each word. It's a little puzzle.

You got turned around a bit. it seems. Instead of going into the cave that leads to the Frozen Lake, try the one next to it. If you're having trouble navigating the Steppes (the second part), when you come to the first horizontal bridge, cross it and keep to the right. That should take you to the Monastery.

Just finished the game, it was a great rpg. Loved the storyline and loved the characters. Final boss fight was challenging and man did Darkness and Dracula have a lot of hp xD.

Characters: 100% I felt all the characters were well done and the side conversation were funny

Storyline: 98% Great storyline, just kinda wish the ending was different, maybe show a ending for each party member?

Music: 100% I give the music a 100 because the music was unique and different. I love the music they did with the mini bosses, Dracula's Castle music was really good and final boos fight music with Dracula and Darkness was very good.

Battles:The battles were challenging even the regular fights. I like a challenging RPG, the mini boss fights were tough and the final boss fight I loved, it was challenging but not over the top challenging.

Overall: Overall I enjoyed the game, I think it was put together very well and the storyline was good and different and real life elements mentioned in the game in dialogues was funny. The music really kept the adrenaline going and the music used in each area and fights matched the fights very well.

I have been replaying a couple of Lone Wolf's old games (from back when it's still called Warfare) and Aveyond right before this launched, so I feel like I was in a rather interesting place to be reviewing from.

The story is more of the Lone Wolf style with lots of snark and sarcasm, which was right up my alley and I got a lot of giggles from the dialogue. I really love Sidni's character and how she flails and rambles when she's in panic. I don't think I've seen this type of hyper-talkative character in the RPGs I've played before. I'm a rambler, and I can relate. Estradi was a pleasant surprise. I was the artist for the facesets and the title, and he... wasn't given a personality description in the details for the art. I drew him as a big dork just for fun and it was a delight to see that he was as much of a dork as I drew him to be. Brenna rather reminds me of Nyx from Ashes of Immortality 2, but funnier. I like grumpy characters like her. Cathan seems a little less-developed than the rest, though.

The game is interestingly setup. Unlike some other games that I've played, we don't actually have that many towns to explore. The mission seems more personal to Sidni rather than this big "save the world" quest, and even when it leads to a bigger situation than originally expected, it's still a somewhat smaller scale. Or at least that's the impression I'm getting, and I liked it. At some point, the "aaah, the world is in danger!!" motive gets a tad overdone. I also loved how the story was told. I thought I knew what was going on, but no, there was a twist and the twist was done right. It was unexpected, but it didn't just spring up out of nowhere. It connects with everything else just right.

I had lots of fun with the cameos, especially Simona and Orlok. Sidni keeps on saying that they're a couple and I get a huge kick out of it, regardless of whether it's true or not. It was almost funny that we have two Mels, though. One who was the clerk at the wagon service thing, and one that was actually Aveyond's Mel. And oh, Galahad too... And the character whose sprite was Gyendal in Aveyond. I laughed so hard when I saw him. I don't know if this was a beta-only thing, but the secret lab was absolutely hilarious. Loved all the hidden secret rooms and hidden bosses. Tough to fight, but it was so satisfying to beat them.

As the others mentioned, there's plenty of pop-culture references. For me personally, that was a bit overbearing, because at times I don't even know what the reference was supposed to be. Your mileage may vary on this. I also felt the ending was a bit abrupt and would have preferred more closure, but it wasn't that big of a problem for me.

If any passerby is reading this: I will emphasize that this game has a different tone and gameplay from Aveyond. Please do not come in expecting to see Aveyond. This game is good in its own way. I liked it because it was different, and I had a lot of fun.
