Precious jewels in Shaenlir-what are they for?

In the town of Shaenlir, there is a jewelry shop that sells ice amulets along with expensive jewels. I have 2 different walkthroughs that I have looked at and while both of them talk about the ice amulet, neither say what the jewels are for. Can anyone tell me? I certainly don't want to spend that kind of money until I know what they're for!

Jewels don't have any use except to be sold. I'm not sure if you can sell the jewels for a higher price than what you bought them for - I've never actually bought jewels from the store.

I have and honestly it would be a mistake to buy them now when you can get them later instead buy armor and weapons for ean. They can give you some money but thats it

There's really no point for the jewels because you're just saving up money to buy armor and stuff. I guess you could buy them and sell for a higher price, but later in the game there will be monsters that have jewels as corpses so you could sell those as well.
