Recommended Posts

How do you prounounce names of characters, cities, blah blah in AV series (include AP) ?

I'm typing this topic by my phone so i'm too lazy to list those names. Maybe I'll make a list later

The AV1 party members' names are pretty straight forward... but I pronounce Dameon as day-me-earn, Te'ijal as tay-jhal.

Druids:
Nanghaithya - nang-hait-ya

Zarich -  zah-rich

Tawrich - tau-rich

Indra - in-zhra

Saurva - sa-or-va

Aesma - ayy-s-ma

Agas - ah-gahs

Ahriman - ah-rih-mahn

XD

This is how I pronounce some of the "disputable" names:

Nanghaithya: Nang-hai-thi-yuh

Aesma: Ees-muh

Agas: like "Vegas" but without the v

Saurva: Sawr-vuh

Etheria: Ee-theer-ee-uh (like "ethereal")

Armaiti: Arm-mighty

Te'ijal: Tay-jahl

Aveyond: Ayy-vee-ond

Thais: Thayyce (soft th)

Ghed'ahre: Gedge-are (hard g)

Shaelnir: Shale-near

Iya: Eye-uh

Ean: Ee-en

Oh an random but...when I was younger I used to pronounce Sedona as Sedoña (Sedonya) for no reason...until I visited the real city of Sedona and found out it wasn't pronounced that way XD

Aveyond: ahv-ee-ond

Ghed'ahre: gehdʔare (ʔ is a glottal stop)

Te'ijal: tay-zhul

I pronounce Lithir as (lee-theer)(soft th)

Thais: thayz

Tar Vedron: tahr-vay-drun

Faiara: f-eye-are-ah

This isn't actually from the games, but for the ghost town on AP: Raomen: ray-oh-mehn

Same for this, the monster hideout: Dolen: doh-lehn

That's just what I call them (based on Tolkien's languages). I thought of Berwen for the dwarf mines. (also Tolkien)

Do you like them?

Oh! Er~ Actually I like the name of the monster hideout only :P
